STOP Aylesbury Vale Incineration - SAVI

SAVI Press Releases June 2010.

SAVI warns WRG Ltd already in talks with HS2 to provide energy for High Speed Rail link: ‘double jeopardy’ threats to Aylesbury and the Vale

SAVI (Stop Aylesbury Vale Incineration) today warns of immediate threat of mass burn incineration in Bernwood Forest, Vale of Aylesbury

For clarification please note that the purpose of SAVI remains solely to oppose mass burn incineration in Aylesbury Vale and that the group has no remit or involvement with any other local campaign, including the proposed high speed rail link.

Your future rural view?

A new development is proposed that could very soon lead to a chimney built at Lower Greatmoor Farm, Edgcott that will be easily visible from your home.

It is part of an incinerator that will continually burn waste.

Bucks County Council have hired a Spanish Company to build a Waste Incinerator on the Oxon/Bucks Border at Edgcott. This will have a 90 Metre high chimney so that smoke created which contains particles believed to carry material that can increase the risk of cancer in children will be blown to the North i.e. to Bicester Buckingham and Northampton.

This is in addition to the similar incinerator proposed at Ardley!!

Worst still for Bicester and Waddesdon is the proposal that about half of the 100 waste loads a day on 44 Ton lorries will be bought in via the A41 from Bicester down to Woodham. It will travel up the M40 from High Wycombe and down the A34. This will have a significant impact on the traffic in Bicester especially the roundabout at the end of the A34 dual carriageway. The other 50% will be shipped in via Waddesdon!!

A petition against this proposal has been started on the Downing Street and you can sign it Please click on the link below to put your signature to the Petition.
